Maxxis Van and Light Truck Range
Brand New Yokohama ADVAN Tyre to Launch in 2009
Maxxis Van and Light Truck Range
In
the wake of the credit crunch van and light truck operators
are becoming increasingly cost-conscious and are turning to
Maxxis for an effective quality/value tyre solution. Twelve
months after Maxxis expanded its UK range by introducing the
new 235/65R16C UE103 to meet the needs of delivery drivers,
the company reports that its van specific tyres - now available
in 38 sizes - are continuing to sell above expectations.
"We are delighted with the increase in our van/light truck
tyre sales, which have been significantly enhanced by the
addition of the UE103 and UR275 patterns," says Derek McMartin,
managing director of Maxxis International UK Plc.
"In the current economic climate businesses are looking
for ways of reducing costs, especially in relation to their
vehicle fleets, and as van operators focus on quality and
durability at a sensible price, they are finding that Maxxis
fits the bill."
The
Maxxis van/light truck range includes:
- The UE103 is a practical solution for everyday use, with
a rugged tread compound formulation for good abrasion resistance
and high tensile strength steel-belts for extra life, and
is at the heart of the Maxxis van and light truck range.
The rib tread design gives improved stability, while the
UE-103 also benefits from superior water dispersal, especially
on motorways, along with a smooth ride and low in-cabin
noise. It comes in seven sizes, from the 155R12C to the
235/65R16C.
- Manoeuvrability and handling stability characterise the
UR275, which is ideally suited to medium-size trucks. Its
advanced tread compound is designed to resist heat generation,
while an extra-strong casing prevents punctures and abrasions.
Available in sizes 215/75R 17.5PR to 245/70R 19.5, the UR275
benefits from low rolling resistance and a rib pattern that
delivers a smooth, quiet ride.
- R-speed rated with a 70-80 profile, the UE168 is manufactured
with a double steel belt for durability and uniformity,
while a jointless spiral-wrapped full nylon cap adds strength
and stability. Available in sizes from 12- to 16-inch, the
UE168 is a proven performer, widely acknowledged for its
year-round reliability.
- The MA751 Bravo is available in 32 sizes, from 155R13C
to LT 275/70R16, and is a firm favourite with sports truck/pick-up/4x4
users. It also features a double steel belt and a jointless
spiral-wrapped full nylon cap, while the extra heavy-duty
sidewall construction ensures responsive handling and optimum
traction in all terrains.
- Combining the responsiveness of a performance tyre with
the high mileage capabilities of a touring tyre, the Maxxis
MA703 provides excellent traction in both wet and dry conditions.
An aggressive tread design ensures smooth handling at high
speeds, while the pattern's double-steel belt construction
promotes stability and improved tread life.
Brand New Yokohama ADVAN Tyre to Launch
in 2009
There will be a brand new addition to the range of Yokohama
high performance tyres in the UK in 2009. The ADVAN Neova
AD08 will hit the UK shores mid-way through the year and will
bridge the gap between the flagship ADVAN Sport road tyre
and the track-day inspired ADVAN A048.
ADVAN is Yokohama's flagship range and the Sport is widely
accepted as the ultimate everyday road car tyre. Its combination
of grip, performance, safety and response have led to it being
adopted as the Original Equipment (OE) fitment for models
from Porsche, Bentley and Mercedes tuner, AMG.
The A048 on the other hand, is a road-legal track day tyre,
aimed squarely at those drivers who are prepared to accept
nothing except the best when it comes to driving to and from
a circuit and getting the most from their car while enjoying
it to the full in the ultimate playground, the racetrack.
It's this reason that has led to the A048 also being adopted
as OE fitment to a range of ultimate drivers' cars, including
the Lotus Exige, Aston Martin Vantage V8 N24 and the Ariel
Atom.
The Neova AD08 has been designed using all of the experience
that Yokohama has amassed in decades of developing exceptional
tyres for both the road and motorsport markets. This culminated
in their being chosen as control tyres for the world's premier
touring car race series, the FIA World Touring Car Championship.
The Neova AD08 builds on the previous model, the AD07 to become
what Yokohama describes as it's strongest road tyre.
The construction has been designed to give even greater response
and stability than the Sport while the tread pattern and compounds
have both been developed to provide the driver with unrivalled
degrees of grip and safety in all weather conditions. The
fact that the Neova AD08 is perfectly road legal yet gives
performance close to semi-slick race tyres makes it a perfect
choice for the uncompromising performance driver.
The AD08 will be available from the Yokohama dealer network
or direct from the UK distributor, Yokohama HPT Ltd from the
second quarter of 2009. It will be available in a range of
sizes, from 15in to 19in and prices will be confirmed at launch.
